After consultation with COVID-19 Unified Command, it has been determined that Garden County Schools along with all other schools in the Nebraska Panhandle will be closed for the next two weeks.  This decision will be reevaluated on Friday, March 27, 2020, with parents and families updated accordingly and extended time as needed.  This is a precautionary measure; as there are currently no cases in the Panhandle. The State of Nebraska has elevated the risk assessment, and Nebraskans, in general, may be at the same risk as travelers from other areas in the nation and other parts of the world. School Superintendents met with Unified Command Sunday Night and agreed this action would help prevent exposure to our area to flatten the curve and decrease the spread of disease.

The following specific items will apply to GCS students

**Students in grades 6-12 will need to check email Daily for the enrichment activities that are required to be completed and will be sent by their teachers.

**If students do not have their computers/iPads,(Students who normally leave their computers at school will have their fee waived to take them home) parents can pick up students’ computers and enrichment material from their buildings on Wednesday March 18 from 1:00 to 3:30. The elementary will have things set up in the gym while the high school will have things outside the main office. If this time does not work, please contact your respective building to set up a time for pickup.

**Garden County Schools will offer a Lunch program and snack for all kids age (1-18) at no charge. If you choose this program it will be for all seven days starting Thursday March 19 thru Friday March 27. We will bring lunches to students' homes in the Oshkosh area. Students in Lewellen and Lisco area can pick up the food at the old school buildings in each town. If you are interested in this program for the seven days you must call the High School building at 308 772-3242 by Wednesday March 18 before 12:00 pm.  Lunch delivery on Thursday March 19, will start at 11:30 am in the Oshkosh area. Food will be delivered for pick up at the old school buildings in Lewellen and Lisco at 11:45am.

If you have questions you may call the Jr/Sr. High or Elementary between the hours of 8am and 3:30pm for assistance.
