Superintendent/Elementary Principal-Dr. Sissel

Garden County holds a special place in my heart! Being born and raised here has enabled me to enjoy the benefits of living in a small community. I graduated from Garden County High School in 1974 and received my Bachelor of Arts in Education from Kearney State College in 1978. After teaching in the elementary setting for several years, I pursued my Master of Science in Education degree from Chadron State College, graduating with an elementary principal's endorsement in 1992. In 2003, I received my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of NE.
While the majority of my professional career has been at Garden County Schools, I have worked in Lincoln, Hall County, and as a staff developer for an Educational Service Unit. My current position allows me the opportunity to see students every day and focus on fulfilling our district's mission of preparing them for 21st Century life! What a privilege it is to see life through the eyes of a child and live in such a caring community.
