The annual report is reflective of the strong commitment to high quality education in the county by all stakeholders:
- We are blessed with ample resources, thanks to our landowners!
- Our elected board of education provides progressive leadership setting policies, participating in committee work, and supporting the administration.
- Administrators are dedicated to implementing these policies and best utilizing district resources to maximize student achievement.
- Caring and compassionate teachers work diligently to insure all students learn every day.
- Support staff provides the additional assistance needed to teach the ‘whole child’, including healthy meals, a safe environment, and academic support.
- VOAWN’s partnership to provide early childhood opportunities with the preschool and Sixpence programs.
- RWGC’s nursing services and Coordinated Health Council participation.
- Community members and parents volunteer time as mentors, help with breakfast, plan Booster Club activities, support fundraisers, and work in collaboration with all stakeholders to make our district the best we can be!
Despite high poverty and increasing mobility in the district, reading and math test scores are in the top 5% of the region (with an all time best in reading) and state AQuESTT ratings placing Garden County Schools in the top 10% in the state! Strong community partnerships, cutting edge technology, and our ‘whatever it takes’ attitude set us apart from the average schools. We are so grateful to all who support and take an active interest in our students’ education. It really does take an entire village to raise a child: THANK YOU all!
